Our Story

Arthur Oral Health Care began serving the Central Illinois area in 1968, under William Brown, DDS. It was Dr. Brown's mission to provide the unrivaled dental care in a rural setting. Frankly, he did not believe geography should be a determinant of quality. Likewise, a person's race, religion, creed, politcal beliefs, or socio-economic standing should not influence their level of oral healthcare. He was recognized as one of the nation's top dentists and was an expert in crowns and bridges. Dr. Brown had small town origins and enjoyed serving Central Illinois.

Dr. Brown passed way in 2018, just shy of his 50th anniversary in Arthur. The Brown family looked for the right dentist to carry on Dr. Brown's wishes of finding someone who would continue the mission of deliverying quality dentistry to the area. Maris Lans, DDS began working in the practice during 2018 and officially took over Arthur Oral Health Care in early 2019. Dr. Lans wishes to expand upon Dr. Brown's vision by turning Arthur into a "dental destination."

Just as committed to the area is the friendly staff at Arthur Oral Health Care. The hygenists and chair assistants have a combined experience of over 100 years. That's a lot of patients! They are ready to assist you with your questions and appointment scheduling.

Dr. Lans is a New York native and a graduate of the Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, DC. "Mars" comes from a family with a long history in several areas of dental care and dental innovation.
